Serum Copeptin Level as a Biomarker for Detecting Transient Ischemic Attack in the Emergency Room: A Prospective Case-Control Study

Objective
 We aimed to investigate the diagnostic accuracy of
 copeptin detect transient ischemic attack (TIA) by
 comparing plasma levels of patients diagnosed
 with TIA who were admitted Emergency
 Department (ED) those healthy controls.
 Materials and Methods
 conducted a prospective case-control study
 among ED neurological
 symptom. The diagnosed by the
 neurologist included. results electrocardiography,
 magnetic resonance imaging, carotid
 doppler ultrasonography investigations 38 patients;
 outcomes (hospitalization, discharge), risk
 group distribution (according ABCD2 scores), and
 variables regarding one-year re-event incidence

 Results
 mean level was 435.80 ± 316.45 pg/ml

 Conclusion
 To best our knowledge, this is first demonstrating high efficacy biomarker
 TIA. Emergency physicians should
 search for alternative diagnoses low
 degree clinical suspicion value.
